Help us, Holy Spirit: A Prayer

Holy Spirit,

Thank You for being our Helper, our Comforter, and our Counselor. Thank You for your nearness. Thank You for every nudge and every reminder. Thank You for telling us the TRUTH. Today we feel inevitably human. So human that the reality of our need for You is glaring. And it’s not that yesterday we didn’t think we needed You. We did. It’s that our humanity today feels very…human. The pain hurts a little more today. The weapons that are forming against us seem to be forming a little quicker than usual. Temptation is at an all-time high, and our enemy is on the prowl. Could You encourage our hearts today? Would You help us resist the devil and ignore his devices? Please lead us into all truth and tell us the Father’s thoughts toward us. Help us understand and give us the courage to press forward; the patience to endure, and the desire to draw near.

We love You. We need You. We want You.
